Players use their own controller.
Device: PlayStation 5. Game: eFootball (latest official version).
Each player uses their own PS5 controller or a compatible controller. Turbo or macro functions and any device giving an advantage are forbidden.
Group stage: players are split into groups of 4 to 6 and everyone plays everyone in their group. Each fixture is a single match (BO1).
Points: win 3 points, draw 1 point, loss 0 points.
Group ranking tie-breakers: goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head result, number of wins, draw of lots (or a play-off match if the schedule allows).
The top two of each group qualify for the final phase. Example: 16 players, 4 groups of 4, 8 qualified, quarter-finals. 24 players: 6 groups of 4, 12 qualified (or 16 with the best third-placed players, at the organizer's discretion).
Single elimination. Recommended format: round of 16 BO1, quarter-finals BO1, semi-finals BO3, 3rd-place match BO1, final BO1 (10-minute match).
Mode: exhibition match, 1v1. Half length: 6 minutes. Extra time and penalties: enabled in the final phase only. Difficulty: default competitive settings. Injuries: off. Weather: clear (or random, at the organizer's discretion). Player form: normal. Substitutions: as per the game rules.
Depending on the tournament rules: free club teams, national teams only, or teams set by the organizer. The same team can be picked by several players unless the tournament runs an exclusivity system.
Group stage: if the score is level at full time, the match is a draw and each player gets 1 point. Final phase: extra time, then a penalty shoot-out if needed.
In the group stage a player may pick a different team for each fixture unless the organizer says otherwise. In the final phase the organizer may require keeping the same team until the end of the bracket, or allow a change before each match.
Players must be present 10 minutes before their fixture. Being more than 10 minutes late may result in a forfeit loss (3-0).
Before kick-off: the match is restarted. If a technical problem outside the players' control occurs, the referee may order a replay. Any deliberate disconnection may result in a forfeit loss.
At the end of the match both players confirm the score with the referee or the organizer; a screenshot may be requested in case of dispute.
Forbidden: insults, unsporting behavior, cheating, banned software or peripherals, deliberate bug abuse, collusion between players. Sanctions range from a warning to disqualification.
Take care of all the equipment and software you use, as well as the furniture. Be friendly and considerate towards every participant. Bring your own controller and the required cables, including a GC adapter. When the organizers call an end to freeplay, stop immediately: no “one more stock”, no “almost done”, the tournament's punctuality depends on you! If the rules are not respected, the organizer reserves the right to ban players from the tournament.
